Learning About Eco-Friendliness Through Aluminum Cans

On March 18th and April 2nd, 2021, we held two separate sessions in which both graduates and current students worked on creating recycled art pieces using aluminum cans. Students cut open 500ml juice and beer cans to use the aluminum sheets as a canvas, and drew pictures and wrote words using oil-based markers — scenes from their home countries, messages to their families, and other personal creations. After finishing their drawings and writing, students used a stylus to create raised and recessed textures, giving their works a three-dimensional quality and completing their pieces. The works were later displayed at the Nagoya City Museum Gallery, organized by the NPO CAN Can Art G.
