Yukata Experience Event

With repeated states of emergency due to the spread of COVID-19, various restrictions were placed on daily life, and the educational setting was no different — students' school lives were subject to a variety of behavioral restrictions as well. As a result, events that allow international students to experience Japanese culture were also difficult to hold for some time.

In such circumstances, after the fifth wave of infection had passed, on Tuesday, October 19th — slightly out of season — we held a yukata-wearing experience class with the cooperation of teachers from Ecla Vocational School. Students each chose their favorite yukata, the girls also had their hair and makeup done beautifully, and they wore a yukata for the first time in Japan. Everyone was overjoyed to wear a yukata for the first time. They went to a nearby shrine in their yukata and took many photos.

Everyone looks wonderful in their yukata. Their families and friends back home will surely be delighted when they send the photos.
