New School Year Begins! Business Manner Training Held

April 1st — the new school year has begun! At ASAHI文化学院, we invited Mr. Tani, an expert in business etiquette, to deliver a lecture titled "Let's Think About Manners" for our young faculty and staff members. The lecture was very easy to understand and could be enjoyed while learning — the time flew by. It was an extremely valuable learning opportunity for the participating staff members. It may not be easy to absorb everything right away, but going forward, we hope each person will remain mindful and continue working on it, leading to an even better school environment. We look forward to the continued growth of ASAHI文化学院!

Spring Break — Instructors Upskilling!

In the morning, ASAHI文化学院's new Principal, Mr. 坂本正, gave a lecture on "Let's Use Generative AI in Japanese Language Education!" The content was filled with concrete examples and demonstrations, and will be of great use in future lesson preparation. In the afternoon, Professor Eiji Isono, Dean of the Faculty of International Studies at Nagoya University of Commerce and Business, delivered a lecture at our request entitled "Hints for Transitioning from Grammar Pattern Accumulation-Based Lessons to Action-Oriented Lessons." His talk was grounded in specific personal experiences, which greatly deepened our understanding.

Also, during the lunch break, Bonjinsha hosted a book exhibition, which became a valuable opportunity for instructors to exchange opinions and share information with one another. It was a very fulfilling day. We look forward to the next training session!

We Held a Study Session for the Registered Japanese Language Teacher Examination.

We held a study session in preparation for the Registered Japanese Language Teacher Examination, which is beginning this year.

We invited two instructors from Human Academy and had them share difficult points, the latest information, and even valuable behind-the-scenes insights.

From new teachers to veteran teachers, everyone likely has different worries and concerns, but I believe our school's study session helped to ease those anxieties.

Received Accreditation Certificate from the Japan Language Education Activities Evaluation

ASAHI文化学院 is dedicated to Japanese language and cultural education — opening a door of learning, forging new paths through the appeal of language and culture, raising sails of hope high, and working together with students toward the realization of their dreams. Today, as a result of the educational activity evaluation review by the General Foundation for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education (Nichininkyo), we were recognized as meeting the Japanese Language Education Institution Educational Activity Evaluation Standards and received an accreditation certificate.

Going forward, we will continue to strive for further improvements in the quality of Japanese language and cultural education, and contribute to the development of globally active professionals capable of succeeding around the world.

Teacher Training Workshop: Unlocking the JLPT Reading Section!

With concerns growing about declining academic performance among students during the pandemic, we held a training workshop focused on JLPT preparation classes, with the goal of having instructors first review their own teaching in order to help students improve their skills.

We invited Ms. Yumiko Ezaki, representative of CHEERS, as our guest lecturer. The workshop gave us the opportunity to think about JLPT preparation classes from various perspectives — how instructors can be more creative to make classes student-centered, how to boost students' motivation, and how to run more effective lessons. After Ms. Ezaki's lecture, all instructors engaged seriously in the workshop activities.

We will apply what we learned in this training to our preparation classes and work hard so that all students can pass in December.

[Thank You for the Wonderful Turnout] 'Japanese for the Workplace' Seminar Event in Nagoya

A Japanese language salon seminar organized by Bonjinsha was held at ASAHI文化学院 in Nagoya. We welcomed a full house of participants and held the Nagoya seminar as the first among five venues nationwide. Once again, the enthusiasm for Japanese language education in the workplace was palpable — it was a swift two and a half hours.

Our school's instructors also participated and studied the textbook "Hatarakutame no Nihongo" (Japanese for the Workplace).

Career planning is important for international students too. It was very informative!

We would like to express our gratitude to all attendees and to ASAHI文化学院 for the use of the venue.
